I have created this blog in memory of my father, who survived the volcanic eruption in Rabaul in 1937. He was on the S.S. Durour, which was in drydock at the time and is still buried under pumice to this day. I am posting his eyewitness account of the Rabaul Eruption. Hope you enjoy it. Volcanic.
